Tiger Eye Red
A member of the Quartz family – Chatoyant golden brown heat-treated to a rich dark red.
Tigers Eye is typically known for its unusual, multi layered patterning and holographic finish (known as Chatoyancy). The stone is comprised of layers of fibrous asbestos, which have turned to Quartz through the ages. When highly polished, the filaments within the surface of the stone reflect light, giving the stone a ‘colour changing’ effect. Gold/Brown is the most common variation of the stone.
The colouring of Tiger Eye Red is the result of exposing Tiger Eye Gold to high temperatures. This stone is made of completely natural material, and does not contain any synthetic dye.
This is a powerful stone commonly used to focus natural energy, alleviating symptoms of lethargy and sluggishness. It is also used alongside treatments for blood and bone disorders.
